Bar criminals from fighting polls: Sonia Gandhi

Sonia Gandhi and Sushma Swaraj said 60 is the age for introspection. Lauding EC for its achievements and its contribution in making India a robust democracy, Gandhi referred to the Women's Reservation Bill and regretted the lack of consensus on giving 33% reservation to women in Lok Sabha and the assemblies.

All's well if end's well. At least the political leadership has started realising that the criminals should be barred from polls. Ironically, till date there is no political party which can claim that it didn't authorise or support a candidate who possessed  a criminal background.
Fortunately, the people of nation realised and most of such persons deprived of entering the current Lok Sabha. Recently, BSP claimed almost clean sweep in Legislative Council's election in UP. Most of the MLCs elected from local bodies either have a dark past or relative of some mafia.
