Prologue : Reports say that the jawans deployed at Silda camp were unaware of even basics of gerilla warfare. Though they were equipped with sophisticated weapons.
There were no entry checks; within the camp, there was even a public toilet used by the locals. Its only defence was a five-foot wall and barbed wire fencing.+++Worst of all, though the state had armed the jawans to the teeth, it had not trained them in the basics of guerrilla warfare.
Update : Final toll stood at 25 with a villager also having been caught in the cross-fire.
Epilogue : The government has accepted a failure in this incident, as the home minister, P Chidambaram said, "While there are indications of failure in some aspects, only a thorough review will reveal how the police camp with adequate strength was overrun, when there was day light, by the CPI (Maoist),"
Now, a permanent-peaceful solution is a must to save the valuable lives ASAP.
